Photographs, whether staged or spontaneous, form our visual memory of events we may not remember, and a sentiment we no longer recall resurfaces as soon as a picture awakens recollection. The link between photography and memory is evoked in this project.

Smiling faces return your gaze, convincing you of a sensation that may or may not have existed. As a child, birthdays and meeting new people were laden with anxiety and shyness. Using things from my childhood memories, this work illustrates the sentiments that linger.
